Minutes of meeting held at the Sir John Bayley Club 20th April 

2017

 

Meeting opened 7-40pm

Present.  Rob Withington, A. Turner, Dave Dudley, John Rawlings, Noel Hitch.

Kelvin McLeod, Andy Kendrick, Josh Devey, James Hayward, Brian Aberdeen, Chris Morris, Carl Wilson.

Matters arising None.

 

Chairman’s report.  Chairman Mr. Rob Withington said that it had been an excellent year, and also mentioned that another team may be dropping out next season.

 

Treasurer’s report.    Cue fees were moistly paid, and Andy was sure the rest would soon follow, as normal. Renewed the web hosting at £190-00 for the year or £305-00 for two years. The web hosting is run on a database, hence the extra charge. Andy also that he had attended Wally Harpers funeral service with the Secretary, and the committee agreed to pay the usual donation for the Lingen Davis Cancer fund. Thanked Noel and Rob for picking up trophies. And there were still four to be collected. Andy was still chasing the other players for the return of outstanding trophies. Decided that Matt Davies would keep the highest break trophy after his 147 break. Pay outs. £4600 for comps and the committee agreed on the treasurers’ proposals for distribution of prize money, bas3d on last season’s pay outs. Also, stated that the cue fees subsidise the competitions. Only items left to pay for was Refs courses and Ref fees, also donation to Wall Harper, engraving and presentation food.

Referees: Thanks to Rob Wright & Steve Fletcher for running the referee seminars resulting in us having 2 newly qualified referees, namely John Rawlins & Noel Hitch

Massive thanks to Craig Baugh for always preparing the tables for us at Bayley; to Bayley, Shifnal & Maddocks for allowing us to use their venues and for everyone that came along to support the players.

Special thanks to all the committee and players for their help and support throughout the year, without whom there would be no league.

 

Inter Town:

Special mention to Paul Lloyd and his Telford A inter town side's fantastic achievement of winning the competition. Also having all 3 teams in the Last 16 is incredible and it looks like we may field 4 teams next season.

Post None.

Future planning.   It was agreed we pay a sum of £150-00 for the presentation food.

A.O. B.    Dave Dudley thanked the committee and Josh Devey for the new Facebook page. Everyone thought it very sad about Wally, one of the players that had played snooker in our league from day one. Alan Turner said he was standing down and announced it early so that there would be time to find a successor. Rob Withington thanked Alan for his efforts over the years.Committe and attendees also added their thanks. Some of the committee would be bringing prizes for the raffle at the presentation.

  

 Meeting closed 8-35
