Minutes of meeting held at the Sir John Bayley Club 21st Jan.

2015

Meeting opened 7-35pm

Present. Alan Turner, Rob Withington, Dave Dudley, Andy Kendrick. Ken Davies. Noel Hitch, Steve Weatherall, John Rawlings, Kelvin McLoud.

Matters arising. None.

Chairman’s report. Chairman, Mr. Rob Withington wished every-one a happy new year and said that he hoped every-one was enjoying their snooker.

Treasurers' report. Andy Kendrick said that all there was no change in the finances, but had changed the months for collection of cue fees to make the collection more evenly spread.

Secretaries report. Secretary Mr. Alan Turner said that he had been in touch with the Shropshire Star concerning the league tables. The Star said they had been going to the wrong email address, which was a completely untrue statement. However, they had put the odd table in, but it looked as though they had picked them out at random.

Competition Secretaries report.

- competitions continue to progress well, no real issues to date
- a couple of players have said they are not playing anymore but are both still in either doubles or trebles. I will keep an eye out as substitutions are not allowed after the first round
- more breaks to note: Tom Maxfield had a 69 in the trebles & Matt Davies had a 111 in the handicap against Phil Dix, that game went to the final black!
- in the league Neil Pearson had a 56 in div 2, was very unlucky as he went in off after trebling the last red into the middle pocket with all the colours in the open
- dates for the diary: U25's semi final & final @ Shifnal Mon 1st Feb (Willie & Frank to ref); Over 55's semi final & final @ Bayley Mon 15th Feb (Rob & Noel to ref)
- Trebles: just 2 QF to be completed then down to the semi finals
- Others: After Fri 29th Jan all other comps will be down to the QF stage, all draws will be done at the U25 semi finals @ Shifnal
- Team KO & Cons Cup: both now down to the semi final stage, draw will be held at the next meeting where venues & refs etc will also be announced
- Reminder: please continue to ask for anyone interested in attending the Refs course

Future planning. It was decided that the presentation on the 20^th of May at the Bayley Club, would be the same format as the last presentation, due to the apathy of the members!!

A.O.B. Dave Dudley had asked if any teams had been fined for not fielding full sides. The answer was no, but there will be a proposal at the next A.G.M. to address this situation. This evenings meeting had been moved into the main lounge as a Weight Watchers meeting was being held in our usual room. It was not clear if we would be able to use the usual room in the future.
