Minutes of meeting held at the Sir John Bayley Club 17^th Dec.

2015

Meeting opened 7-35pm

Present. Alan Turner, Rob Withington, Dave Dudley, Andy Kendrick. Ken Davies. Noel Hitch, Steve Weatherall, James O’Hara, John Rawlings.

Matters arising. None.

Chairman’s report. Chairman, Mr. Rob Withington mentioned the loss of Fred Spragg, and thanked Ken Davies for representing the league. Another former player, Iain Howley had also recently passed away sadly.

Rob said that it was a thoroughly enjoyable Inter-town match, and hoped that the teething problems could be ironed out next season. Also wished every-one a happy Christmas and new year.

Treasurers' report. Andy Kendrick said that all cue fees had come in but there was a shortfall from Shifnal E.

Secretaries report. Secretary reported that unfortunately, by the time the news was received about Fred Spragg, he was sorry that he could not attend Freds service.

Competition Secretaries report. Competitions secretary Mr. Noel Hitch report as below.

• competitions going well, only 3 matches not completed so those players that didn't respond have been scratched
• all players that have encountered problems arranging matches have been advised to keep texts / emails so they can prove they have tried to arrange games etc
• reminder that the dress code of collared shirt (not polo shirts), tailored trousers and shoes would be adhered to for all semi finals and finals
• top breaks to date in the comps: Matt Davies 76; John Fallows 67; Ian Duffy 65; Phil Dix 48
• special mention for Matt Davies who had a 135 break in the league recently
• There has been a request for a referee course or briefing session to be arranged if possible. Noel to put a notice on the website and enquire with Steve Fletcher / Rob Wright about numbers required etc
• draws for all competitions were held after the meeting, thanks to Steve Weatherall; James O'Hara; Ken Davies; John Rawlins for staying to carry out the draws
• draws will be on the website Friday 18th / Saturday 19th December

Future planning. It was decided to hold the presentation on the 20^th of May at the Bayley Club.

A.O.B. The question was asked if the Telford Snooker Website was in any way linked to the West Midlands. It was stated that our site was totally independent, had had been purchased from the author of the program.
