Minutes of meeting held at the Sir John Bayley Club 16^th Jan.

2014

Meeting opened 7-28pm

Present. Alan Turner, Mike Wainwright, Rob Withington, Pete Clarke, Andy Kendrick, Nigel Stallard, Terrie Askew, Simon McLeoud, Tony Morgan, Angus Way, Steve Weatherall, Dickie Oliver, Chris Morris, Dave Dudley, Mike Healey, Noel Hitch.

Apologies: None.

Minutes proposed. Steve Weatherall, Seconded, Terrie Askew.

Matters arising. None.

Chairman’s report. Rob Withington mentioned that one of our members, Mr. Doug Morrey had passed away on Monday of this week, and all revered what a gentlemen Doug was. Rob also mentioned that the Anstice might be closing; to be confirmed.

Treasurers' report. Andy Kendrick said that he was pleased to report that only two teams were outstanding with their cue fees.

Secretaries report. None.

Competition Secretaries report. Nigel said that Frank Williams and Willie Brown were available to referee competition matches, and also Rob Withington had made himself available. Mike Healey offered his services to referee the local match at the Bayley Club, but it was pointed out that he was a member of one of the teams. Rob Withington thanked Nigel for all his hard work, and input to managing the competitions, since he had took the post on.

Correspondence None.

Future planning. It was suggested that the league keep the same format for the presentation as last year, to keep the costs down, in view of the declining number of players in the league. We need a venue, and Maddocks was suggested again. The probable date would be Friday sixteenth of May. We would be asking Pete Nolan as the main sponsor to present the trophies, with Barry Roden, Andy Geary and Tony Morgan also mentioned.

A.O.B . Pete Clarke asked if arrangements had been made to collect trophies back in time.
