TELFORD SNOOKER LEAGUE

Match Report - 2016/17

INTER TOWN RESULT - CONGRATULATIONS TELFORD B

BRIDGNORTH A V TELFORD B at Chelmarsh.      Bridgnorth took the early lead when the experienced Simon Thomas potted well including a nice 27 break to beat Keith Price 52-16. Telford hit back straight away when, despite going behind early on, Sean Nolan came back strongly to defeat Chris Lewis 48-35 to square the match. In the third frame it was nip and tuck as Chris Morgan- Adams for Bridgnorth took on Craig Reynolds for the visitors. Craig eventually looked to have done enough as Chris needed a snooker on the blue but as Craig sank the blue, the white cruelly rolled the length of the table to go in off. With ball in hand Chris could now win and confidently smashed the blue into the corner. The pink followed but he caught the far knuckle of the centre pocket with the black. Craig stepped up and potted a fantastic black down the rail into the yellow pocket to put Telford ahead, winning 66-53. Not to be outdone, home skipper Mick Brezwyn potted well including a 37 break to beat Adam Moore 82-20 and level the best of 7 match at 2-2. Up next was Steve Jones for home side facing visiting skipper Mick Reynolds. Mick drew on all his experience to take the initiative and he never let up running out a fine 66-30 victor to put his side on the brink of victory. In the penultimate frame Bridgnorths Ian Postins began well taking the lead but making his representative debut for Telford was Steve Powell. He showed no signs of nerves as he potted his way to a great 73-37 win to seal his side's place in the next round. In the dead rubber Bridgnorths Paul Manning beat Ade Henry 65-23.
