DIVISION TWO CHAMPIONS CROWNED

With one week remaining of the 2015-16 league campaign,  Eden G clinched the Division Two title when Steve Powell beat Bayley Z's Iain Atkinson in the 4th frame of their clash at Eden this Wednesday, with Eden eventually running out 4-1 victors. Congratulations chaps, this now sets up a clash to surely rival the Anthony Joshua v Charles Martin World Heavyweight Title Fight when the newly crowned 2nd Division champs take on the newly crowned 1st Division champs in the Team KO Final  at Bayley later this month, can't wait!

BAYLEY LADS GAIN THEIR FIRST WIN In their debut season the Bayley Lads have been a breath of fresh air in the league, always playing with a smile on their faces and giving their all without gaining that winning feeling despite being close on several occasions. However their luck finally changed at their 21st attempt as they travelled to Allscott. In the first frame Will O'Hara knocked in a lovely 24 break on his way to a fine 68-44 win over Dan Brentnall to start the ball rolling. Up against home skipper Dave Finney was always going to be tough for Mike Cooper as Dave doesn't lose too many. Despite this he almost snatched it but it was Dave that held firm to sink the black to level the match, winning 41-35. Time for the visiting skipper Josh Devey to step up and set the example for his side. He did just that by out scoring Phil Craggs 49-38 to regain the lead once more. The fourth frame was another close affair with neither player able to get clear. In the end it was fitting that it was the experienced campaigner Ron Broad that was able to seal that illusive first victory for the Lads as he beat Nick Gwynne 47-38. The final frame saw the home side's Chris Starling edge out Ross Bowater in yet another close frame 53-40. Ross able to take the consolation of his side claiming the win, so was happy for Ron to take the plaudits this time. Well played lads, I'm sure it is the first win of many to come in the forthcoming seasons.
