OVER 40'S SEMI FINALS Thanks first of all to Dawley for opening up especially for us on a Tuesday evening and to Mark Jones for preparing the tables. In the first semi final it was Shaun Harris who opened up with a 25 break against Chris Petford. Chris just couldn't get going and didn't have much luck as Shaun took the first frame 72-2. The second frame took a similar pattern and some decent potting from Shaun, aided by 2 outrageous flukes, saw him safely through to the final 70-36 taking the match 2-0. The second semi saw two of the leagues most consistent performers face off as John Fallows took on Paul Lloyd. The first frame was a tense affair with safety being the order of the day but it was Paul that edged it 59-35. John got ahead in the opening exchanges of the next frame but with the balls going awkward it was never going to be pretty. In the end it was Paul that came through a tough match 61-30 to progress 2-0. Well played and thanks to all that came along to give their support on the night.
