Division

The home side took an early lead
with some fine potting from steve clayton against ken davies
. Running out with a 76 20 victory.
Frame 2 saw steve minshall
recovering from last weeks defeat with a 57 25 victory over
roy lowe.
The third frame saw some lovely
potting from fred spragg, who rekindled his days of old, but
unfortunately for fred , darren weston overcame the frame
winning 74 28, with a super break of 36 along the way.
Frame four saw home team captain
john rawlins take on maj ilyas, the skipper rekindled
form of old by some amazing potting on the pink ball, which
seemed to be never out of a pocket, although in the words of
steve fletcher from days gone by, john produced another
string of " rawlins specials " along the way. As
he ran out a comfortable 68 17 winner.
Frame 5 saw alan turner take
on the potting machine james o hara. Some wonderful pots
from james showed exactly how capable he is on the table,
but the ever stable mr turner, showed why he has been in the
game at a high level for so many years, by putting in a
performance to be proud of, taking the final frame 58 26.
A good result for the reformed hadley side 5..0.

Matches between Bayley Cue and
Eden G are always played in a great spirit and are usually
close affairs and this contest proved to be just that. The
ever consistent Roy Leneveu began well for the visitors but
Bayley\'s Rob Cook dug in and with some assured potting edged
in front, a lead which he kept until the colours. However a
great pink left a black with the rest to win but agonisingly
it jawed and Roy was able to sink it to clinch the frame. The
second frame saw a return to snooker of two players who have
favoured the seven foot baize of later years namely Andy
Elliot and Craig Reynolds. The frame started evenly with
neither player able to really get their potting going until
that is, Craig did what Craig does and out of nowhere smashed
a quick fire 44 to put his side 2-0 up. It was beginning to
look ominous for the Bayley lads but in the next frame it was
Danny Weaver who took the early lead. Eden\'s Steve Powell hit
back but in the end it was Danny who kept a steady head to see
the frame out and reduce the deficit to one. Sadly the
comeback wasn\'t to be as Rich Jones stormed to a 40 points to
nil lead over home captain Noel Hitch. Noel tried to dig in
and resorted to a long safety based game which appeared to be
working as he reduced the deficit to 12. Rich however was
never going to let his lead slip and he held his nerve to seal
the win for Eden. In the final frame Spencer Clarke continued
his recent run of form which has seen him only slip to one
defeat to date. In a closely fought safety battle with Rob
Withington, Rob\'s experience just couldn\'t see him through
as Spencer kept up Bayley\'s consistent start to the season
....unfortunately all 2-3 reverses! Well played lads and good
luck for the rest of the season
