Newly promoted eden A played
hosts to a new look hadley A side.
The night started off with a
cracking first frame between mike mancini and hadleys steve
clayton. Steve opened up with an early run of 17 to be
followed immediately with a well taken 24 from mike. Steve
himself followed up with another good knock of 24, steve was
well in the driving seat with a comfortable lead of 33 with
just one red remaining, but mike had other ideas, as he took
a pink with the last red then went on to take the remaining
colours with some incredible long potting. Finishing the
game with a 34 clearance thus winning the frame by a single
point 61 60. Credit to both players for a thoroughly
entertaining frame.
Frame 2 saw H singh taking on a
stranger from the telford snooker scene for a number of
years Paul lloyd. It didnt take paul to rekindle his days of
old knocking in a magnificent 60 break, rattling the next
red which would have surely seen him create the first league
century this season. Mr singh could only watch in awe as
paul went on to take the frame 75 . 1.
Frame 3 went to the home side 79
26 with some fine potting and safety from rio singh
against an out of sorts steve minshall,
The fourth frame saw another
familiar face from days gone by, Darren weston. Who produced
form of old beating the home captain chris morris 76 23
taking a nice little 24 break along the way.
So at the game standing all
square, it was left to the young talented lewis round to
take on the ever present stalwart Alan turner. It was the
youngster who pulled through 55 20. Himself adding to
a night of twenty plus breaks, with a smartly taken 25. With
the age difference taking its toll on the veteran, he kindly
through in the towel, hobbled away from the table, and
proceeded to do what he does best..... have another red wine
! Now thats a sport he never loses !
