Division One.

This top of the table clash promised much and didn\'t let us down. Matt Davies who has struggled with his fluency of late hit form with a bang as a lovely 103 break proved, indeed it could have been 138 but the last red sat in the jaws with the colours beckoning. Darren Weston built up an early lead on Aaron Sparkes, but a good 27break got Aaron in front with the last red remaining, but a lovely 35 clearance from Darren took the 2nd frame.Shifnal cptn Angus Way had a long war of attrition frame with Simon Yeats, and having lead by 26 with just the colours remaining, Angus left the yellow in the jaws and looked like he may pay the price, but Simon was unlucky with a long pink and Angus gladly took it to re-establish Shifnals lead. Frame four was a good open affair, and with both John Fallows and Keith Price having 30 breaks it was anyones frame, but Keith had the edge on the colours and wrapped up the frame on the blue. The deciding frame saw Linsay Knox take on Anstice cptn Ian Duffy. The best chances fell to Ian who regularly scored, and with Linsay failing to take his chances Ian ran out a comfortable winner to wrap up a good and deserved victory for Anstice.

Division Two.

All 3 matches last season were close games and this proved no different. Fresh from his win over Matt Davies last week Ben continued his form to edge past Rob to put Maddocks 1-0 up. Steve showed glimpses of being back to full fitness as he defeated Ken to level the scores. The third frame was excellent watching as some super safety and good potting saw the lead see-saw before Chris held his nerve to clinch it. I must point out some great sportsmanship from Maddocks Tommy Hanson who called a foul on the blue himself that no-one else spotted in the middle of the frame. Fantastic to see at any time but especially in a closely fought match. Lee continued his fine form this season to beat Fred and in doing so give Bayley their first win this term. Maddocks skipper Mike took the last against Noel to conclude yet another close encounter between these two sides.
