Division One
Frame 1 Callum Wraight v Matt Davies. Could have gone either way
with both players missing chances. Matt cleared the colours well to take the
frame. Frame 2 Steve Jones v Aaron Sparkes. Steve only came to buy his brother
a birthday drink & ended up making his first ever league appearance due to
Dawley missing some players. He pushed Aaron all the way in a good frame but
ended up conceding too many points thanks to the MISS rule. Aaron cleared the
colours to pink to take the frame and with a puff of his cheeks shook Steve\'s
hand. Frame 3 Sean Nolan v Angus Way. Another frame that could have gone either
way. Angus got himself into a good early lead only for Sean to come back well
and get himself in front. Sean went for a thin cut brown off the last red to
get position on yellow but unfortunately left it over the bag. This left Gus in
prime position & with the balls at his mercy said thankyou very much. He
promptly cleared the table to put Shifnal 3-0 up. Frame 4 Pete Nolan v Lyndsey
Knox. Both players struggled early doors but Pete got his potting boots on and
got himself a good enough lead that Lyndsey never came back from. First point
on the board for Dawley. Final frame Mark Jones v John Fallows. John played the
better snooker in this frame & forged a good early lead. Mark came back
well but whilst on 25 the beer goggles kicked in and he missed a black off the
spot which let John off the hook. John went on to to score the points he needed
to secure the frame and give Shifnal a 4-1 victory. Good result for Shifnal but
could have been oh so different. Thanks to Steve for making the numbers up,
great effort brother.
