a
good local derby got started with colin gittus playing his
best frame of the season so far to easily outscore aaron
sparkes with some lovely potting. 2nd up saw home favourite
john fallows v ade henry, and this frame ebbed and flowed, but
ade deservedly took the frame on the pink to the C team 2
up.Matt davies was in no mood to see the match end however and
a superb 71 break killed the frame in one visit.Next up linsay
knox tried to keep the match alive, and in a low scoring
frame, having all but won it, linsay made a bad error on the
brown which allowed ritchie heighway to take brown blue pink
and wrap up the win for \"C\".A dissapointed angus,
who had hoped for a decider, was left to salvage a point
against chris lawson, but chris played a blinder and outplayed
angus for most of the frame, but despite trailing by 33 on the
yellow, angus battled on and eventually took the frame with a
good long black..a good match, and the \"c\" team
were well worth there win.

Well
and truely beaten by the better team on the night. 100% record
gone for me and the team, very well played Newport. Back to
the drawing board for us and trying to get used to our tables
which we still dont seem to have mastered since they were
re-clothed 2 years ago. Danny OliverWell and truely beaten by

Bayley
Q vs Maddocks B. A stitch in time saves nine ! (but more of
that later). Frame 1 saw Jimmy Langley vs Ben Godding, with
Jimmy starting the better out of the two. However the balls
conspired to turn this battle into a messy affair as the frame
stayed very tied up. Jimmy still had the lead going into the
colours, but a bit of bad fortune allowed Ben his chance which
he finished off with a classy pressure pot on the black to win
42-34. Frame 2 saw Chris Durham taking on Neil Warrender. Neil
got off to a flyer with some excellent potting, in tandem with
a constant exhibition of flukes (you could only laugh at).
Already a third of the way into the frame Chris got off the
mark and started to play some assured snooker, making a good
frame of it which come down to the black, which Chris potted
to leave the score 47-43 and level the match 1-1. Frame 3 saw
the pairing of the Captains as Steve Weatherall was up against
Jamie Howells. Steve started potting them off the walls (not
in a Chris Morgan-Adams way) as they flew in from all
directions to open up an early lead. Jamie then took his first
few opportunities to eat back into the deficit, but it was not
long before an in-form Steve went on to win 50-17. Frame 4,
Lee Newton vs Roy Lowe with a twisting and turning frame
seeing the potting from Lee overcoming the tactics from Roy to
win 51-18. Frame 5 had a regular meeting of Noel Hitch vs Maj
Ilyas, a nip and tuck frame ensued with both players very
evenly matched. Maj looked to have the upper hand, but Noel
come back (including a quality long pot on the pink) at the
sharp end to pinch it on the black 42-39 proving that a
\"Hitch in time saves nine\" as the Q team have now
taken 9 out of 10 on their home table, including a 4-1 win on
the night over a good spirited Maddocks B side, who on another
night would have come away with alot more from the match
