Second
Division.
Dawley
C versus Bayley D.
Pretty
much a game of two halves, but Dawley C nicked it! Amazing to
see such a good team as Bayley D so low in the table...this is
not a true reflection of their capabilities. Good match in
all...
Bayley
B versus Shifnal F.
Good
game against a good bunch of lads. First two games were both
won on the black and could of gone either way. Chris painter
played superbly against Craig and never really gave him a
chance. Rob wright and Dickie both potted some great balls but
Rob came good at the end when it mattered and Dickie Oliver
played solid in comfortably beating Will Brown. Fair result
and best of luck to the Shifnal lads for the rest of the
season. Danny Oliver
Division
Three.
Bayley
Q vs Shifnal D. \"The bigger they are,the harder they
fall\". Frame 1 saw Jimmy Langley vs Steve LLoyd-Jones,
where fairplay to Steve was playing only his 2nd ever game
allowing Shifnal to field all 5 players. Jimmy is quite happy
to notch up the chances as they arrive and duly did so to run
out the winner, but Steve who is learning as he goes only had
to look over to the next table at the Bayley Juniors to be
inspired, where you improve in a short space of time. Frame 2
had Chris Durham taking on Terry Askew, with Chris getting off
to a solid start and a 20 point lead. Terry then found another
gear to forge on to win 62-24. Frame 3 saw a cat and mouse
game between Steve Weatherall and Mokesh Mohemie with neither
player giving the other much ground. It all came down to a
pressure pot on the pink in Steve\'s favour to win 55-47.
Frame 4 and Noel Hitch (who had fallen, when knocked off a
ladder while holding speakers in both his hands earlier at
work. No it was not known how big the fall was, but enough to
cause Noel a split in his trousers, and some gaffer tape to
preserve his modesty) put up against Brian McMillan. Brian was
in outstanding form leaving Noel \"the gaffer\"
Hitch little chance in a 66-8 win to level scores at 2-2.
Frame 5 saw Spencer Clarke take on Geoff French, once again
Shifnal\'s Geoff was the one putting the pots down to win
53-21. A well earned victory for the Shifnal lads felled 3rd
place Bayley Q, but falling harder on the next table was 2nd
place 2nd Club B going down 4-1 to an inspired display by the
Bayley Juniors. A big well done to Shifnal and the Juniors for
keeping things interesting.
