First
Division.
Anstice
A visited Hadley A this week, and although it was a 5-0 win
Hadley acqitted themselves well and could have nicked a couple
of frames. John Williams played very well against Ian Duffy,
always chasing the game and just lost out on the colours. Mick
Hughes started well, but Darren Weston came back and won the
next frame. Grahm Darral was also in the hunt with Neil Price
until the latter stages of his match. Alan Turner had a good
frame with Adam Moore, but no run of the ball. The final frame
was a cracking game. Andy Kendrick looked to be winning that
frame comfortable, but Simon Yeats came back with a great 39
break and completed the whitewash.
Third
Division.
Following
the euphoria of last weeks \'magnificent\'result in the cup
,(which included \"maximum\" breaks for both Allen
Francis & Iain Atkinson - or so the records will show
!!!!) Bayley Z returned to losing ways against Allscott ,
however they showed a fighting spirit which belied their
league position . Tony Morgan got the match off to a flying
(?) start with an impressive 53-19 defeat of Dave Finney ,
Paul Rhodes followed this with another fine performance before
\"eventually\" losing the frame on the black 48-50 .
Rich \'Tugboat\' Benting then took on & lost to Kev Waland
30-42 , before Iain Atkinson pulled one back for the Z\'s with
a 43-42 defeat of Nick Gwynne , 25 points down , 1 snooker
required & playing \"not very well\" to put it
mildly , Iain somehow managed to get the snooker & all the
remaining colours with a 22 break ,to steal the frame 43-42 .
With the match on a knife edge , bar shut & dawn not far
off Allen Francis made a valiant effort before coming unstuck
24-45 against Chris Bates . Once again a thoroughly enjoyable
evening with a good bunch of lads.
