Good
solid home win for the Bayley lads. Ben Sewell was in awesome form
with two 30+ breaks and for Maddocks Tony Garmston played
really steady. Fair result in the end and some good banter.

Bayley
Q vs Shifnal D. Frame 1 saw a very close contest between Rob
Cook and Terry Askew, with Rob potting the pink to leave a
black ball decider, the awkward position of the black played
back into Terry\'s hands winning 53-49. Frame 2 saw an
inspired display of potting (including a 23 break) from Chris
Durham leaving Sanjay Shavhan little chance to counter, with Chris running out a 66-8 winner to
reply for the Bayley Q. Frame 3 saw Shifnal\'s Pete Wharton make a solid start looking to maintain
his unbeaton run, however Lee Newton came back strong
(including a 23 break) to win 72-38 to maintain his own run of
good form. Frame 4 with Steve \"the ferret\"
Weatherall, as so nick-named by his opponent on the night Rich
\"the hat man\" Goldie. Nothing could separate these
two in the frame, which required Steve to ferret out some much
needed pots on the pink and black to win by the closest of
margins 50-49 to secure the match win for the Bayley. Frame 5
saw a mix of potting plus some great snooker escapes from Will
Brown to overcome Rich Tranter 69-41 to allow the recently
qualified referee reduce Shifnal\'s deficit, leaving a 3-2
victory to Bayley Q. A mention also has to go to Shifnal\'s
extra support, nice to see on the night in the form of
teamates Arthur Aston and Geoff French present on the
sidelines.
As
the Antice \'C\' lads welcomed the 2nd Club \'B\' side to
Madeley, the first frame proved to be something of a tight
affair with neither player able to open up a sizeable gap. The
lead changed hands back and forth until Ian misjudged a safety
on the pink, it struck the knuckle of the middle pocket before
doubling across to the opposite centre to put the visitors in
front. In fact this was the first time the new Anstice boys
had trailed this season and it seemed to kick start them into
action. Some assured potting from Andy Elliott including a
fine break of 20 saw him level the scores before skipper Noel
Hitch continued the fightback, compiling a break of 23 to put
his side 2-1 ahead. What a difference a week makes as the
Anstice\'s Danny Evans discovered. Last week saw him wrap up
an impressive 91-0 victory in just a handful of visits to the
table, with breaks of 23 & 44 along the way. This week he
learned its not all about potting as Pat Kershaw kept the next
frame very tight. However Danny showed his safety game was up
to the test as he calmly took his chances to prevail 43-19.
The final frame was another nail biter as visiting skipper
Roger Smith edged in front only for Danny Weaver to pot the
final pink & black to force a re-spot. After a short
safety exchange it was Roger who produced an excellent long
pot to leave the home side thinking of changing their name to
Anstice \'3\' rather than \'C\'.

Great
match between Andy Shaw n Tony Morgan....all way through the
frame it was nip-n-tuc but with only the pink and black left
with the black making all the difference Tony made a great
long pot to secure the frame...great frame entertaining all
involved, and no disgrace to Andy Shaw taking him too the
line.....
Thanks
to the teams that sent in the reports.
