Divison
One.
A
fantastic start to the match with excellent potting from both
players and nothing between the two up until the last few
reds. A great pot on the red together with a out of this world
pressure pot on the pink from ernie sealed the frame. Skelly
continued winning ways with a great win over Mat, after the
frame he said he had felt inspired by ernie. This form
continued with both Leigh and Phil winning, which left Mick to
finish off the 5-0 victory against Ade with an outstanding
performance.
Division
Three.
The
final match of this very disappointing season saw the Bayley
Z\'s take on their old adversories Bayley D ,who played their
strongest team despite already gaining promotion . This didn\'t
stop the Z\'s from putting up a spirited performance ,star of
the match was Paul Rhodes , whose amazing 62-55 (which
included a 25-lifetime best !! )defeat of Ade Smith on a
respotted black ,a brilliant performance ! Tony Morgan
,playing against his \'bogeyman\' Brian Aberdeen , failed to
follow his predecessor ,going down 36-59 . Al Francis ,playing
in an unfamiliar 3rd place ,couldn\'t get to grips with Dave
Williams all round play , going down to a 48-3 defeat , Al
subsequently \"retired \" from competitive snooker
(again!), i am sure , once the disappointment & the
hangover subsides , he will be back next season !! .
\"tugboat\" Benting then took on Jim Lewis , which
Tug won in impressive style 64-36 , which left the match on a
knifedge , with Iain Atkinson taking on the potting machine
which is Mark Beddall , Iain couldn\'t match his previous
thrashing of Mark in the singles (lol) , however & Mark
eventually scraped through to a 45-18 victory . A very
enjoyable night , marred only by the fact that we lost ,
however the signs are good for next season , the search is on
for a few more players (5 would be good !) to join our team ,
however we are not looking to take on old/rusty ex-1st
division players (you know who you are !) in a bid for fame
& fortune , we are not New York Cosmos !!!
Thanks
to every-one who sent in reports this season, please carry on
doing the same fro next season. Some of you will have noticed
a memory lane archive added, thanks to Andy Kendrick. It has
been received well, and if any one has more of the same,
please contact me. We will look after them and return them in
the same condition, Alan.
