This
matched looked likely to end in a 5-0 win for the visitors the
way it started out. Phil Whitby potted several excellent long
pots and when a chance presented itself for him to take the
final red, black, yellow, green and brown to secure the frame
he took it. Craig Baugh played well to win and when a comeback
was on the cards Graeme Long was unlucky to go in off the
final black. Bayley B deserved the run of the ball on the
night because to this point they had played the best snooker
and this run continued for Kev West(and then some!) against
Mike Brezwyn. Simon Mcleod played solidly to get a point on
the board for the home side before Neil Caswell restored some
pride against a team
that thoroughly deserved the win 3-2.
It
all started well for the ex Coddon lads when they played their
first game on their new table as Steve Downes edged out Phil
Davies. It all went downhill after that as Maddocks A won the
next four frames. Not even Tony (typhoon) Garmson could
slow his opponent down enough to beat him. Every frame could
have gone either way but with Maddocks E having no luck (as
usual ) they are already in a relegation battle .
In
the first frame Carl Walker came out of the blocks quick fire
and potted well to put Dawley A 1-0 up. This was to be
followed by an epic battle between young Tom Mullholland and
Sean Nolan. Sean took an early 25 lead only to see Tom
pull back half way through the frame. Sean went into the colours needing only the green but failed leaving
Tom a great chance to pinch the frame, Tom duly potted green
and brown only to miss the blue and see Sean took it away to
put Dawley 2-0 up. Mark Jones proved too strong for Ken Booty
to put the match out of reach for Hadley, making it 3-0 to
Dawley A. Darren Pountney played solid and ran out comfortable
winner against Pete Nolan to pull 1 back for the Hadley lads
followed by Laki Badhan beating Andy Garbett in the last to
make it Hadley B 2 vs Dawley A 3
