Division
Three.
What
a start to an evening of keen matchplay and entertainment with
Callan Rhodes being matched against his Dad, Paul. Callan
broke and the battle began, with neither letting the other get
any sort of advantage. Paul eventually getting quite a tidy
lead, only for Callan to close in gradually until it was
desperation stakes leading to a black ball finish. The roar
that went up almost raising the roof when Callan playing in
only his first season as a forteen year old in the league sank
the black. A great win for him especially beating his Dad into
the bargain. Mike Watkins, another young teenager had to try
to follow that, whilst playing in only his second league
match. Unfortunately he was up against \"Tugboat\"
playing more like a \"Destroyer\" with all guns
blazing. He weathered the storm and the experience will not
deter him from showing better results next season.Ryan Dudley,
not up to his usual best was overawed by some resounding
potting from Tony Morgan, making it a bit of a job for the
following two players to get the result required. Dan Lane
putting up a spirited performance once again took the
initiative and lead more or less all the way antil the
finishing post came up and he was pipped on the black ball
finish. Very unlucky and disappointed he will be there next
season and a real contender for one of the young players of
the League. Ryab Shervey playing well and potting most
superbly gave Ian Atkinson a good run for his money, beating
him to get the final frame of the evening. A two - three
defeat for the Juniors was a little unlucky, but then it is
all added experience for a very young, up-and-coming side, who
are already thinking about next season. Watch out at the top
of the League, that is wehere their sights are set. You have
been warned Sir John Bayley Juniors are on the march
UPWARDS!!!!!
