TELFORD SNOOKER LEAGUE

Match Report - 2011/12

Division One.

Hadley A came out with all guns blazing in the first frame - after Ken had missed a few opportunities, Andy punished him with some good snooker to run out easy winner 57 points to 23. Phil Dix in quick fire fashion squared things up with another impressive performance against Mick Hughes, running out winning 52 points to 11. Hadley B then took the lead when Darren Pountney was in impressive form comfortably beating John Williams, 62 points to 6 to put Hadley B 2-1 up on the night. Hadley A then squared as Graham Darrall rolled back the years with a great win against young Tom Mulholland, 52 points to 12, and young Tom is finding things difficult in the top flight of our league, Alan Turner then comfortably disposed of Laki Badhan in the last frame, 66 points to 13 to give the Hadley A side the edge in the local derby winning 3-2.

Steve Adams played well and won a tight opener for the home side in a frame that could have gone either way. Simon played well beating Ian. Neil Caswell was 16 up on the pink before going in off when getting out of the snooker - Phil Davies potted the final two balls to get one back for the visitors. Solid frames from Mick and John sealed a good result against a strong team 4-1.

Division Three.

Bayley Z started the new year with increased optimism and their attempt to claw themselves off the bottom of the league started with a bang when Tugboat Benting won the 1st frame of the year defeating Chris Fletcher 48-36, that was as good as it got! However there was much controversy in the next match between \"lily - Norway\" Morgan & Chris \"Pink Panther\" Durhamdurham, when, at the end of the frame nobody had made a note of the score! Lily swore blind that he had won the frame, however, after a brief conversation it was declared that actually Chris had took the frame 55-16, which made a bit of a mockery of Lily\'s appeal! Next, the recalled Roy Francis took on Lee Newton and played some fine snooker, however Lee took the frame 54-41. Paul Rhodes, playing in an unfamiliar 4th position, then took on Steve Weatherall in another close game which Steve edged 53-43. And finally Iain Atkinson got comprehensively beaten by Richard Tranter!
