The
match between Shifnal B and Bayley F went 5-0 to the Shifnal
side, although there were some close games. Andy Kendrick was
in a good position to win the frame but after going in off,
Lindsay Knox took the remaining pink and black to win the
frame. Phil Whitby was never at the races against Matt Davies,
and Mick Hughes never got a look in against the safety play of
Aaron Sparkes. Graham Darrell played well, but Angus way
finished the stronger. Alan turner was in with a chance
against a below par John Fallows but didn’t take many of the
chances given
Maddocks
A, at home to Coddon A produced a 3-2 win for Maddocks. Ian
Eldridge and Ian Skelton were comfortable winners over Mark
Wall and Andy Jones, but Leigh France was always struggling,
and finally succumbed to Steve Downes. Tony Garmson for Coddon,
was always in command and beat Phil Davies. In the last frame
Dave France, always behind, had more run of the ball towards
the end of the frame to beat Nick Pearce.

Bayley
B at home to LDS C, saw the home side gain a 5-0 win with a
fine display of snooker. Dan Oliver had a 33 break beating
Peter Randall, followed by Tom Mulholland with a 32 break
during his win over Joe Rixom. Kev West won easily against Jon
Calvert, and then new signing Ben Sewell made a 42 break
playing Brendon Perry. Craig Baugh completed the whitewash
beating Tom Gowers.

Newport
A versus Shifnal D.
Newport
got their first win of the season in a great match with
Shifnal. Terry Askew opened the scoring for Shifnal with Mark
Hebden failing to get going and losing his first match of the
season. Brian McMillan opened the scoring for Newport with
some great potting. Mokesh Lal added a second with some good
finishing, beating Rich Goldie. Mike Turnock then made it 3 -
1 in a close game with Geoff French. The last match saw
Rushpal Bassi beat the steady Will Brown in an hour long match
to wrap up a 4 -1 win that might just get Newport’s season
started.
Bayley
Q versus Allscott
The
visitors took the opening frame after an epic safety battle
ensued on the last red while Kev Welland extended the lead
before Lee Newton halved the arrears in a scrappy third frame.
Steven Weatherall levelled proceedings with a re-spotted black
victory while Jason Allen displayed a fine potting performance
to ease past Chris Bates in the decider.
Antice
B versus Bayley D.
Despite
a 22 break by Dave Dudley Stew Wimbush won the opening frame.
Noel Stones looked in trouble until his 32 break gave him some
daylight over Craig Whitehead, 2-0. Nigel Wallcroft for Antice
B, took the third over Dave Williams and when George
Hammond won the fourth frame against Jim Lewis, the whitewash
was on. The last frame was a ding dong battle, including
in-offs, free balls snookers, and great potting. The frame was
decided on the final black 67-63 to Billy Watson over Mark
Beddall and the
whitewash was complete 5-0 Antice B.
