Division
One.
Although
I give preference to the teams that actually send a report to
me each week, I must mention that in this weeks match against
Little Dawley G, young Tom Maxfield knocked in a cracking 110
break against his opponent. Well done Tom.
Maddocks
A took on Bayley E this week, at the Maddocks club, and in the
first frame, Andy O’Brien was on fire beating Leigh France
including a 34 break. Phil Davies had no problem levelling the
match, but in the next although having a 32 break, Ian
Eldridge went down to Ali Jones. Ian Skelton set up a decider
when he defeated Dave France, before his namesake, Dave France
from Maddocks secured the match in a scrappy frame with John
Squire.

Hadley
B have all but walked away with this division, and this week
they visited the Bailey A side who are losing some of their
players due to retirement next season. In a close first frame
Ken Booty from Hadley beat Chris Morgan-Adams, with Jon Wright
adding the second in a low scoring frame with Bob Mason. Laki
Badhan made it 3-0 and in another tight frame Darren Pountney
beat Maxwell Hodson to make it four in a row. Steve Fletcher
captured the last frame for his side to avoid the whitewash.

Division Three
Hadley
A needed to win their remaining 3 games 5-0 & rely on 2nd
club B to lose all their games 5-0 to move off the bottom of
the league - and it started off so well when Richard
“Tugboat" Benting impressively beat Mokesh Lal 63-28.
This was the first frame Hadley had won in the last 15 ! but
it was also the last of the night as Hadley returned to
"form" losing the remaining 4 frames. Roy Francis,
struggling with his eyesight, put up a brave fight against Wai
Loon Loo, eventually losing 48-40 in a very close game .
"Walsall" Tony (now known as Norway Tony following
his "nil points" last week !) came up against Mick
Pink, a newcomer on the scene , & despite a 22%
improvement on last week couldn't get the better of Mick,
losing 49-22 . Al Francis also battled well against Mark
Hebden before going down 60-39. Brian McMillan got the better
of Iain Atkinson in a tense final frame , potting the final 2
colours to notch up a 43-35 victory, however Iain was
struggling with a bad side ("with" or "in"
was unclear !). So it's now a certainty that Hadley will
collect another wooden spoon to add to their already
impressive collection in their cutlery draw. Roll on next
season , when ,with 5 new signings, we aim to mount a serious
challenge for 2nd from bottom place ! And considering the
amount of frames we lose on the black , we are seriously
thinking about removing the thing from the table !!!
