DIVISION
TWO
Hadley
B maintained their early momentum with a win over Dawley B.
Laki Badhan got
off to an impressive start with a good display of potting, but
vintage performances from Wally Harper and Doug Morrey soon
reversed the tables and put Dawley in the driving seat. Barry
Roden seemed to have the match won for Dawley with the
simplist of pinks but managed to wobble it and Dave Smout
snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to set up a decider.
Darren Pountney took
the last from Liam Goodman to give Hadley and a narrow escape.
A
tight match ensued at Eden A with the first frame won by Mick
Reynolds to edge out Chris Painter of Shifnal F. Dean Harris
went 30 behind early on and battled back but Rob Wright kept
his calm to level the scores. The next two frames were shared
courtesy of Dave Peplow and Steve Powell to take the match to
a decider. In another tight affair Eden’s Richy Jones,
re-appearing after a 12 year lay off, got the better of John
Briscoe to earn a 3-2 win for Eden.

ONE
Maddocks
C entertained Coddon A this week and in a match that could
have gone either way Coddon eventually ran out 3-2 winners.
Darren Millward won the opener against Mark Wall followed by a
win for Steve Downes over Steve Hassack
in a game full of misses to draw level. The next two
were also shared with Joe Oliver for the home side and Tony
Garmson for Coddon. Nick Pearce stepped up to take the match
in the deciding frame against Graham Hoof.
Little
Dawley A made it a brace of 4-1 victories to get their season
off to an excellent start, this week Bayley F being the
victims. Simon
Evans and Matt Bailey never looked in danger and when Lee
Elcock also claimed the third frame with a more competitive
win over the unlucky Alan Turner it looked grim for the Bayley
side. Veteran
Mick Hughes tried his best to squander a lead which lasted all
the way to a re-spotted black but held his nerve and got one
on the board for the home side but the pain relief wasn’t
long lived as Ade Henry claimed the last for another emphatic
victory.

DIV
THREE
A
scrappy start to the match between Dawley C and Bayley Q but
three wins for the home side thanks to the battling qualities
of Chris Gifford, Andy Elliot and Sean Cross got the Dawley
lads an early win in the bag. The Bayley side fought back as
Andy Shaw found Steve Weatherall too strong and the best game
was saved for last as Luke Edwards was in great potting form
to beat Rob Cook and earn a 4-1 win.
Breaks
of 30 and 41 for Dave Dudley and Craig Whitehead saw Bayley D
take the lead over Allscott but John Shelvock responded for
the visitors. Dave Williams took the fourth to secure the win
for the Bayley side before captain Dave Finney earnt Allscott
a second point.
