First
frame was nip and tuck between Aaron and Steve, and it took a
fantastic pot on the pink to secure the win for Aaron. In the
next Darren Wilkie opened up an early 30 point lead, but a
well crafted 30 break brought Angus back into contention.
Darren continued his good form this season, taking the
colours in a quick fire game to level the scores. Matt Davies
was up next against Graham Hoof, with Matt in superb form the
last few weeks, it was going to be a tough ask for Graham, and
so it proved with Matt knocking in two quick fire 40 plus
breaks to seal the win. Frame four saw Lindsay Knox face S
Hassack. The home player started well opening up an early
advantage, and with just one red remaining held a 31 point
lead, but then a superb red and saw awesome pots on the
colours, Steve dragged himself back into contention and
eventually potted the black to steal the frame. In the last
John Fallows played Ian Cleary, and John sealed the win for
the home side with his customary aplomb, potting off the
lampshades.

A
close match between Coddon C and Bayley A this week. Chris
played well early on but Mark potted well to take the colours
up to, and including the blue, before eventually losing on the
final pink. Ollie played a steady game, and Arthur was always
playing catch up in the frame, which wasn't helped by giving
away points in fouls. Ollie winning the frame 58-21. A scrappy
3rd frame and it was always going to go to the pink or black -
Matt winning it after potting a good blue despite getting a
kick when playing the blue to the middle pocket, and potting
the final pink to win the frame. Garry Owen playing much
better in the 2nd half of the season, was again back to
winning ways - Garry played steadily and won despite a
battling performance from Maxwell. With the match already won,
Steve Fletcher gained a consolation point for Bayley by
beating Mick Stokes on the brown, a much-improved performance
from Mick though. Final score 3-2 to Coddon C.

Bayley
Q vs. Shifnal D was always going to be a bit tasty, with one
point separating them in the division going into the night. A
blistering display of potting saw Rob Cook brush aside Nigel
Simpson, taking the opener for the Bayley 62-10. Captain,
Chris Fletcher followed up his good display in last weeks cup
match, with an inspired and controlled 60-23 win over Terry
Askew. A quick fire potting master class saw excellent shots
from both Lee Newton and Dave Chapman, with Lee just edging it
57-41 on the pink (including a 24 on route). With the match
secure for Bayley, a cat and mouse tussle took place between
Steve Weatherall and Geoff French, going down to the perfect
reverse double on the black for Geoff to gain his revenge for
earlier in the season with a 53-48 win. Shifnal looked to end
strongly, but Will Brown lost out 48-44 with Spencer Clarke
holding his nerve on the final black to secure an impressive
4-1 win to the Bayley Q.
