Division
One.
Maddocks A
took on the Bayley F this week in a fine match. Although Ian
Eldridge won his frame comfortably, to put Maddocks one up.
Graham Darrall won a good frame against Phil Davies, but the
rest of the games were very close. Ian Skelton and John
Williams had a great tactical battle with Ian taking the frame
on the pink. Leigh France potted very well and towards the end
of the frame, Andy Kendrick went in off the pink leaving the
frame at Leigh’s mercy. The e last saw Dave France and Alan
Turner roll back the years, with Alan reducing a deficit of 40
points, with the help of some luck and some misfortune from
Dave, only to see Dave pot the final Black.

Whitehead, but Darren Pountney took the next. John Wright won

Newport
A continued their good form, and rose from 11th where they
have been all season, in a good friendly game with 2nd Club.
Mike Turnock started well, but could not take his chances and
lost to Ian Talbot. Brian McMillan and Chris Cotterill had a
great match, with Chris going ahead on the colours to take it
for a 2-0 lead. Mark Hebden then proved to strong for Nick
Holmes to pull one back for Newport. Mokesh played a solid
game against Keith Mears to level the scores. The last match
was a slow affair, but Rushpals steady potting led to a
comfortable win and a good comeback from 0-2 to 3-2.
