It
was a great start for the lads from Shifnal B with Matt Davies
up first against Tom McDonald Matt was, the home player, was
in sparkling form, knocking in a quick fire 90 to put his side
1 up, Aaron Sparkes then took on Dave Beyer, and with Aaron
back to his early season form, knocked in some great pots to
win 68-17. It was a tighter affair in frame 3, with Angus Way
playing Andy O'Brien, both players potting well throughout.
Angus finished the stronger, putting his side 3-0 up, winning
62-43. The good form continued in frame 4, as the two Johns,
Fallows and Squire played each other, with the home player,
John Fallows, cracking in an impressive 43 in the early
stages, eventually winning 84-15. Lindsay Knox wrapped things
up for the home side with a 54-18 victory over Dave France.
Maddocks
C started the second half of the season with a much-needed win
over Lds A. The first game saw Ade Henry beat Daz Millward
69-31, but only after Daz had missed several chances himself.
Next up, Matt Bailey for the visitors was completely out of
sorts, and his opponent Daz Wilkie, took advantage taking the
frame for Maddocks 49-4. The home side took the lead by taking
the next two frames fairly comfortably with Joe Oliver beating
Jesse Lowe 54-14, and Steve Hassack finding a bit of his old
form, and winning by a score of 61-7 against Graham Wiley. The
last frame saw Stu Russell eventually run out after a close
fought frame by 72-30 against Ian Cleary. Final Score 3-2 to
Maddocks.

Bayley
A played Shifnal F this week, and in a close match it was the
Bayley side who came out on top. In the first frame Chris
Morgan-Adams beat Chris Painter, with Bob Mason losing out to
Rob Wright in the second. Arthur Burrows then lost narrowly to
Dave Peplow, with Maxwell Hodson then beating John Briscoe,
also a close frame. In the decider, it was Steve Fletcher
against Roy Martin, and
this frame was a very close encounter with Steve just edging
out Roy, to take the overall win for his the Bayley.

Stew
Wimbush and Noel Stones won the opening two frames
convincingly against Chris Fletcher and Rob Cook respectively,
but the next two
frames were tight thrillers, with Nigel Wallcroft having to
pot blue pink and black to see off Lee Newton. A tense tussle
to the end, saw George Hammond pot the final black to inflict
a rare defeat on Steve Weatherall. Tthe white wash for Anstice
B, was complete when Steve Smallwood potted well including a
20 break to beat Richard Tranter
Bayley
D played leaders Newport B this week at the Wellington club.
Bayley D have improved after a slow start, and this match
tested their credentials for a swift return back to the second
division. In the first frame Jim Lewis for Bayley took on
Colin Farge from Newport, and it was the Newport man who took
the first frame. Dave Dudley then levelled the match by
beating Allan Davies, with Wayne Weeks restoring the lead for
Newport with a victory over Mark Bedall. In a closely fought
frame, Dave Williams just headed of the challenge of Steve
Speake, to set up a decider between Adrian Smith and Les
Stirling. Nice to see Adrian back in the snooker fold, but
alas on this occasion, it was Adrian who narrowly lost out to
Les, for Newport to win the match 3-2. Bayley D will be happy
with their performance.
