Division
One.
Dawley
A, currently holding fourth place visited struggling Bayley F
this week, and in the opening frame, Mick Hughes was drawn
against Carl Walker. “The Mole” potted like a demon to
take the first frame with a top class display of snooker.
The
same can be said for Sean Nolan, who also produced a fine
frame when he played Graham Darrell. Although Graham played
well, Sean was unstoppable and went on to make the score 1-1.
After a scrappy start to the third frame when Andy Kendrick
drew Alex Nolan, Andy came to life making a 30 break and
winning the frame comfortably. Alan Turner playing Mark Jones
next, and Mark had no luck at all after four shots he had
fouled the black twice and then the pink also went in after
another good red was potted. Alan made the most of his
unforeseen start and played well till the later stages of the
frame, but then almost snatched defeat from the jaws of
victory. The end result was 3-2 to the Wellington side, and
unfortunately there was no last player to represent Bayley F
due to illness.

In
the match between Coddon C and Bayley B Ollie Wall potted well
against Kiev West and a good long pot on the final black won
the 1st frame. It was the battle of two of the top players in
the 2nd division that saw Matt Bothwell
take an early lead but, a missed blue in the middle
pocket and his confidence went as Tom Mulhollands' s potting
game came through, with two 20 plus breaks to seal a good win.
Mick Stokes never got going in the 3rd frame, and some good
potting won the frame for Dan Oliver. Mark Tusel had plenty of
chances playing Kelvin McLeod, but lost a close game for
Bayley to win the fourth frame. A good 5th frame saw a good
solid performance from Garry Owen versus Craig Baugh, which
included good safety play and a clearance; Garry seems to be
improving after a slow start to the season.

Bayley
D played leaders Newport B this week at the Wellington club.
Bayley D have improved after a slow start, and this match
tested their credentials for a swift return back to the second
division. In the first frame Jim Lewis for Bayley took on
Colin Farge from Newport, and it was the Newport man who took
the first frame. Dave Dudley then levelled the math by beating
Allan Davies, with Wayne Weeks restoring the lead for Newport
with a victory over Mark Bedall. In a closely fought frame
Dave Williams just headed of the challenge of Steve Speake to
set up a decider between Adrian Smith and Les Stirling. Nice
to see Adrian back in the snooker fold, but alas on this
occasion, it was Adrian who narrowly lost out to Les for
Newport to win the match 3-2. Bayley D will be happy with
their performance.
