Breaks galore in the snooker league this week, and the
first to mention is a wonderful break of 87 by Darren Weston
which now tops the highest breaks to date. The break was made
when Minn Fats B visited the Sir John Bayley club and trounced
the Bayley club 5-0.
Broseley A, current joint leaders with the Shifnal B side,
recorded a 4-1 win over the Bayley E side at Broseley, with
Simon Thomas making a 59 break against his opponent, Dave
France.
Shifnal B visited the Audco A side, and continued their good
form by beating the Audco side 4-1. Audco’s only winner
being Andy Kendrick, who won on a re-spotted black against
Dave Peplow. Another break in this match with Matt Davies
producing a 61.
Anstice A were away to the Maddocks A side and although taking
the first two frames, Maddocks came back strongly to take
the next three frames and secure the match win.
Maddocks C are making their presence felt each week with
consistent results, and this week was no different whilst
away to Little Dawley A. maddocks C produced a 3-2 win, with
Darren Wincott having a 47 break against Jesse Lowe during
their frame.
Second Division
Shifnal F were at home to the Little Dawley G side and will
be well pleased with their 5-0 victory over the Little Dawley
side.
Meanwhile Coddon who were in the running for promotion right
up until the end of last season, are once again chasing honours
and did their cause no harm when they visited Minn Fats A
and came away with a 4-1 win.
Second club A were away to the Maddocks B team this week,
and came home with a 3-2 win under their belt. Karl Owen had
breaks of 28 and 18 during his game with John Fletcher.
Bayley B and Coddon C who met at the Coddon club this week
are now on equal points after the Coddon side gained a 3-2
win in this match.
The Second club B side made the short trip to the Bayley
club where they met Bayley D. The Bayley D side came out the
victors in this match by the odd point, 3-2 to the Bayley
side.
Third Division
Comrades A are doing well so far this season, but they lost
their match with the Hadley A side, which are showing better
form so far this season. Although away from home the Hadley
side took this match 3-2.
Audco B returned a 3-2 win at home when they played the Little
Dawley C side, and these teams are just one point apart in
the table.
Maddocks D lost their match to the Shifnal D side, at Shifnal,
although it was a very close affair with Cheryl Caswell losing
her frame with Terrie Askew by a solitary point!
Little Dawley B were at home to the Newport British Legion,
and in some closely fought games came out winning the match
3-2.
Please note that a committee meeting will be taking place
at the Bayley club this coming Thursday evening commencing
at 7-30.
