Broseley A hold onto a narrow lead this week over Minnesota
B by just two points. Broseley were at home to the Shifnal
B side and gained a 3-2 win over the Shifnal lads.
Little Dawley A were at home to champions Minnesota B, and
will be very pleased taking two points from the Minnesota
side. Phil Cottey beat Richard Wade 56-1 and the other winner
for the Little Dawley side was Ade Henry, who had a 55-4 over
Ian Duffy.
Maddock's C entertained Bayley E this week and in a good
match (certainly better than the football that was on the
TV in the other room) the visitor's were the victors by three
frames to two. A. O’Brien took the first game on the
pink from Mick Wincott, in a game that could easily have gone
the other way, 38-30. Darren Wincott then recovered from his
setback the previous week when defeating an out of sorts Steve
Hoof, 58-32, with a nicely compiled 35 break along the way.
Ali Jones then followed up last weeks excellent break of 85
with another run of 41 in beating Joe Oliver, 61-12.
In the next frame John Squire ran out the winner against
Graham Hoof by 74-17, building a really good break of 52 only
to miss position with a few red balls still on the table.
The last frame saw Steve Hassack start really well with a
solid 32 only for Dave France to get back in the frame and
Steve was quite relieved to take the brown, blue and pink
and win by 78-46, and secure a second point for the home side.

Anstice A were away to the struggling Bayley A side and recorded
a 4-1 win at the Bayley club, the Bayley winner being Steve
Fletcher who beat Steve Camp 75-23.
Due to a good start, Audco A are still hanging in, and this
weeks result was a 4-1 win to the Audco side, playing at home
in the match with Dawley A. Highlight of the evening was the
match between Andy Kendrick and Sean Nolan. Andy had a 28
break and was coasting, only to see Sean clear the table with
a 27 to snatch the game on the black ball.
Bayley F were at home this week to the Maddocks A side and
will be well pleased with their 3-2 victory over the Maddocks
side. Paul Maxfield, playing well this season beat Leigh France
and there were some very close games. John Jones lost to Phil
Davies in a high scoring game 74-66. Darren Willkie was another
good winner over the out of form Ian Eldridge.
Second Division
With only two cards in from the second division this week,
Shifnal F are top, although they lost at home when they played
the promoted Maddocks B team, who are acquitting themselves
very well so far in this season.
Coddon C entertained the little Dawley G side at the Coddon
club, and in a match decider the Dawley side took the win,
with Rob Withington beating Josh Wall 51-13.
Third Division
Audco C, were away to the Shifnal D side and came away with
a fine 4-1 victory, which keeps them in top position this
week. Winner for the Shifnal side was Andy Easthope who beat
Anthony Heathcote 61-44.
Close on Audcos’ heels are Anstice B, but although
having the home advantage this week they lost 3-2 to the little
Dawley C side.
Comrades had another 5-0 win this week at the expense of
the little Dawley B side, at the Dawley club, and this win
sees them in third place.
Audco B played the Newport British legion in a local derby
match this week, and the Audco side came out winning this
match 3-2.
My regular reporter from Hadley has been very quiet lately
(where are you Iain?) however, his side, Hadley A visited
the Bayley Q team and lost this match 5-0. Highlights of the
game included the 34 break from Steve Weatherall who won his
frame against Richard Benting with four reds still remaining.
Chris Bates fluked the black and then potted the re-spotted
black to beat Ken Booty, and Rob Cook beat Iain Atkinson on
the black in one of his trademark tight long games.
