It's one way traffic in division three at the moment for
Audco C, and that way looks to be going in the direction of
promotion. Audco C went to the little Dawley B side and returned
with all of the five points on offer, in what was a comprehensive
victory.
Comrades also gained the same result with a 5-0 win over
Newport B, and who would bet against Audco and Comrades going
up this season. Chris Crook had a 25 break during this match
when he beat Matt Weaver 69-7 in his frame.
Audco B were at home to the Maddocks D side, and this match
also went to a decider where Pete Smith for the home side,
played Mick Wainwright. It was Mick who won the night however
with a 62-24 score line, giving the match win to the Maddocks
team, 3-2.
Shifnal D played the Anstice B side at Shifnal this week,
and seriously dented Anstices hopes of promotion, with the
Shifnal lads winning this match 4-1. Highlight of the evening
was the match between Geoff French and Noel Stones who both
had a 22 break in the game, but with Geoff French just winning
that frame 56-54.
Bayley Q and Little Dawley C, are just one point apart after
this weeks match, when they played each other at the Bayley
club. Although Little Dawley took the first point when Gary
Walls beat Rob Cook 58-18, it turned out to be the only win
of the evening, as Chris's Fletcher, Durham, and Bates, and
Richard Tranter took the remaining four frames.
First Division
With no card in from Minnesota B this week, whatever their
result Broseley will remain one point in front at the top
of the table after visiting the Little Dawley Social club
and defeating the Little Dawley A side 5-0. John Banks started
Broseleys' run to the 5-0 win, when he beat Lee Elcock 72-57
in a high scoring frame. Simon Thomas made it 2-0 having a
55 break in his frame with Phil Cottey. Simon McLeod, Graeme
Long and Mick Brezwyn added the last three points to complete
the rout.
Shifnal B lost away to the Bayley A team 3-2, with Matt Davies
losing a rare frame when he played Spencer Rowley. That score,
68-28 to Spencer. This result will definitely help the Bayley
lads in their bid to stay in this division.
Anstice A took all five points from the hapless Bayley E
side when the Bayley lads visited Madeley. Bayley E are slipping
down the table quite quickly with only three points from the
last four matches.
Maddocks A gave Dawley A no favours when they played Dawley
at the Maddocks club. This result went 5-0 to the Maddocks
A side, although the score lines indicated that there were
three very close frames.
Audco A took on the other promoted side, Maddocks C at the
Audco, and just managed a 3-2 win with the last frame being
decided on a re-spotted black. Andy Kendrick potted a superb
length of the table pot, to win the frame and the match.
Second Division
Coddon A are not relinquishing their hold on this division,
and although away to the Shifnal F team they came away with
a 3-2 victory, and have a four point advantage over their
Coddon C team.
Coddon C however, narrowed the lead by a point as they recorded
a 4-1 win at home to Minnesota Fats G. Wayne Weeks got the
Minnesota team off to a winning start, but that was indeed
the only win of the evening for the Min. Fats boys.
Second Club A. fell a little of the pace this week when they
visited the Bayley D side and lost this match 3-2. Some very
close games in this match and it went to a decider with Dave
Dudley getting the better of Karl Owen 51-44 in the last frame.
Little Dawley G and Maddocks B are locked on the same points
total after playing each other this week at Maddocks. This
match went 3-2 to Little Dawley G.
Minnesota Fats A were at home to the Bayley B side, and this
match went to the wire with Phil Bufton winning the match
by beating Richard Bedall 75-62 in the decider.
Dawley B with home advantage are struggling to keep up the
pace, and they lost their match 4-1 when the Second Club B
side visited them.
