With only a few cards in this week, Shifnal B, at home,
now move to the top of the division with a 4-1 win over the
Maddocks C side. The only winner for the Maddocks side being
Darren Wincott who triumphed over Aaron Sparkes.
Audco A could only field four players in their match with
Anstice B and slumped to a 5-0 defeat at the Madeley club.
Bayley E are in the middle of a fine run, and in the local
derby between themselves and Bayley F, they recorded a 4-1
victory. Tom Maxfield was the only winner for the “F”
side beating Ali Jones 57-36.
Second Division
Coddon A in top place, were at home to the Second club B
team, and in a close match came out the winners, 3-2.
Shifnal F managed to keep in touch when they played away
to the Bayley D side, where they secured a 3-2 win.
Maddocks B, although with the home advantage, lost their
match with Minnesota A 3-2, but remain in a healthy position
in this division.
Batley B were at home to one of the other Minnesota teams,
Minn G. this was a good result for the Bayley B side winning
the match 4-1.
Second club A came a cropper this week, when the Coddon C
side came to visit them and took four out of the five points
on offer, with Laki Badhan making a 38 break in his match
against Ian Ferriday, that score 64-18.
Third Division
Audco C at home this week appear to be favourites for third
division winners, as they clocked up a 5-0 win over the experienced
Anstice B. Dave Berry had a nice 49 break against Mick Cahill
to win that game 78-21.
Comrades, also doing well, kept the heat on with a 5-0 win
over the Bayley Q side to stay in second spot.This was the
opposite of Bayley's five-nil win two weeks earlier, the losing
players being Rob Cook, Steve Weatherall, Chris Fletcher,
Chris Bates, and Richard Tranter.
Little Dawley C were also in fine form and another 5-0 win
in the division when the Little Dawley side beat Maddocks
D 5-0.
Newport British Legion returned to winning ways this week
when they beat the Shifnal D side at home.
Hadley A got back to winning ways when they entertained
Audco B with a 3-2 victory, Roy Francis got them off to a
"blinding" start beating C. Hughes 63-43, this was
followed by another victory from Ken Booty against G. Howells
62-7, Gareth Hughes made a welcome return to the "action"
taking on Pete Smith, however, Pete took the frame 36-21.
Al Francis then had the daunting task of taking on the Div
3 individuals runner-up Andy Yates, but came away with a very
creditable 50-42 victory, to give the Hadley boys a 3-1 lead.
The match finished with Alex "Rev-head" Turnbull
getting the better of Iain Atkinson (again) to restore some
pride for the Audco team, to record a 56-46 win.
