Hadley A travelled to Shifnal D & came away with a
resounding 4 - 1 victory , Kev Whitehead (making a welcome
return to the team) took the 1st frame , beating T.Askew 42
- 21 , Ken Booty then continued his impressive form to defeat
"young" Arthur Aston 75 - 21 . The match was effectively
sewn up when Tugboat defeated Geoff French 54 - 47 in a nail
biting frame, coming back from being 18points behind, with
3 colours remaining, to clinch the frame on a respotted black.
Al Francis unfortunately came unstuck against an impressive
Barrie Easthope losing 58 -20; however Iain Atkinson took
the final frame 42 -33 beating George Nelson.

Audco C were away to Maddocks D this week and still remain
top in spite of a 3-2 defeat at the Maddocks club.
Meanwhile, Comrades took on the other Audco side, Audco B
and in a close match Audco took this one 3-2.
Anstice B seem to be losing their grip of late, and this
week they lost their match with Newport British legion although
having the home advantage, the score was 3-2 to the Newport
lads.
Bayley Q were given a snooker lesson at the Bayley club this
week it seems, as that result ended in a 4-1 win for the Little
Dawley B side.
Second Division
No Coddon A result this week but they still remain top as
Shifnal F, away from home could only take one point from Minnesota
A at the Oakengates club.
Coddon C are one of three teams on the same points, and
they had a good 4-1 result this week when they played against
the Maddocks B side. One of my old team mates, veteran Les
Hicks was the only winner for the Maddocks side; well done
Les, keep it going.
Second club B met Little Dawleys G at the Trench club this
week with the Dawley side taking four of the five points on
offer. Paul Crooks was the only winner for the second club
when he beat Graham Wiley and having a 24 break during the
match.
Second club A side fared better than their counterparts as
they visited Dawley B and came away with a 3-2 win over the
Dawley lads.
First Division
Maddock's C entertained a strong Minnesota B side this week
and performed very well in taking two points off the 2nd placed
side. In the first game Steve Hassack came up against Sean
Harris and in a game where both players played some excellent
safety shots Sean eventually took the frame 57-38. The next
frame matched Joe Oliver against Darren Weston with Joe finally
finding a bit of form and in a very even game Joe pinched
it with an excellent pink and black to win 57-50. Brendan
Wincott then started well against Keith Price but when Keith
got going he took the 3rd frame fairly easily with two good
breaks of 43 and 33 , frame score 90-24.
Simon Yeats looked to be walking his frame against Graham
Hoof when leading by 57 points (break of 44) but Graham staged
a tremendous recovery and was extremely unlucky to finally
lose the game on the black 74-61. In the last frame Darren
Wincott played Ian Duffy and ran out a worthy winner 52-28,
although the run of the ball was not particularly kind to
Ian, but Darren was delighted in that it was the first time
that he had beaten Ian. Final match score 3-2 to Minnesota
B.
Report courtesy of Joe Oliver.
Shifnal B met the much improved Bayley E at Shifnal this week
and although Matt Davies won the opening frame 86-0 with an
86 break, the next frame was the last one they won on the
evening, as Bayley came back to win the next three.
Bayley A and Bayley F in a local derby saw the Bayley F side
win by the odd frame in five.
