After an exciting finish to this season, Broseley A have
become champions of the first division. Broseley were away
to Dawley A, and took a 4-0 lead until Mark Jones took a point
in the last frame to defeat Neil Caswell.
Shifnal B gained second place, and finished one point behind
Broseley. Shifnal won 5-0 in style at the Bayley club, when
they beat the Bayley E side. Matt Davies produced yet another
break, this time it was a 62 against Ali Jones.
Minnesota B had to settle for third spot this season, and
they finished their campaign with a 4-1 win at home to Maddocks
C who have acquitted themselves well in their debut into this
division.
Anstice A at home to the little Dawley A side, stopped Little
Dawley from continuing their good late run with a 4-1 defeat.
Ade Henry took the opening frame for the Little Dawley side,
but that was the sum total on the evening, although the frames
were quite close.
Maddocks A at home to Audco A, played some cracking snooker,
and took all five points from the Audco side. Audco started
the season well but finished by only taking four points from
their last five matches, and this defeat may have sent Audco
back to the second division.
Bayley A and Bayley F played a local derby match and the
Bayley A lads pulled off a 3-2 win and secured first division
snooker for themselves next season.
Second Division
Coddon A have won the second division title, and did it in
style with a 5-0 win to end their season, when they played
at home to Minnesota Fats G.
Double celebrations for the Coddon club, as the Coddon C
side, although losing 3-2 to Maddocks B at Maddocks, also
go up to the first division. Maddocks B have consolidated
their position in this division, and will look forward to
getting further up the table next season, well done to them.
Congratulations to Les Hicks, eighty seven last week, and
still knocking them in, although Les lost by one point on
the black in his game with Mark Tusel.
Second Club A finished joint third with Shifnal F. The Second
Club A lost 3-2 at home to Dawley B, while Shifnal F had a
3-2 win at home to Minnesota Fats A.
Bayley D and Bayley B was another other local derby match,
and this result went to the Bayley D side 3-2 which saw both
teams end up on level points at the end of the season.
Third Division
Audco C go up a division next season, provided they and the
other Audco teams secure a venue to play from. Audco C, at
home, lost 3-2 to the Maddocks D side this week, but it didn’t
affect their comfortable success of wining this title. The
opening frame of this match went to newcomer, this season
anyway, Cheryl Caswell, who is a formidable opponent. In a
very high scoring frame which went 72-62 to Cheryl, she had
breaks of 22 and 37, so adding her name onto the highest breaks
sheet.
Comrades A, who have played from the Shifnal club this season,
won their last match away from home 3-2, playing against Audco
B. The Comrades will also be promoted to the second division
next season. Bayley Q have had a good season, and after beating
Little Dawley B 4-1 they will be finishing mid-table. The
team will be pleased with their overall performance this time
around, and perhaps get even closer to promotion next season.
Congratulations go to Chris Durham who after thirteen years
of trying has managed to win the team's trophy for most wins
!
Anstice B will probably be a little disappointed with their
season finishing third. Anstice were away to rock bottom Newport
B, and did come away with a 3-2 win from the Newport side,
who haven’t found much form at all in this years campaign.
Hadley A were at home to Shifnal D and although winning
the first frame Hadley went on to lose the match 4-1.
